1920s sconces FOUR

1 in stock

I’m very pleased to offer this extraordinary opportunity:
FOUR circa-1920 wall sconces!

The sconces are both delicate (the classical design) and substantial (they are cast-iron).

When I acquired the set, the sconces were heavily over-painted (the last coat being silver!). Through a controlled stripping process, I was able to ascertain the original two-toned color combination: a dull gold combined with a brilliant burnished gold. Nice.

The sconces are ideal for any traditionally-styled home, be it constructed in 1905, 1965, or last month.

Only one sconce is now restored. The remaining fixtures will take up to two weeks after payment is received.

This set will be shipped wholly restored and with new sockets and wiring, ready to hang, and with all the mounting hardware needed!

DETAILS: The fixtures accept standard base 60W bulbs (not included).

COLOR: See above.

SIZE: The sconces are almost 12-inches high (without bulbs), 10-inches wide, and they project 5-1/2-inches.

  • I love writing this: there’s no damage.
  • The sockets and wiring are new.
  • The candle covers are new.
  • The polychrome is new and expertly replicates the original using the same colors, material, and technique. This is a hand-applied and hand-burnished finish akin to a stain. The effect is much subtler than can be achieved by using modern, regular type paints (which looks like a plastic film).

SHIPPING: Insured shipping in the Continental US will be…FREE!
