1920s Bird of Paradise chandelier. Extraordinary

1 in stock

I’m very pleased to offer this remarkable, stunning, and extraordinary fixture from the 1920s!

The fixture is rare. I have only once previously offered one.

The custard glass shade is just spectacular, and features a bird of paradise on each side. The shade is also unlike one I’ve ever seen, and is like an upside-down bell.

The shade is surrounded by a fantastic ring of lattice, and this is burnished gold.
(The lattice ring is an incredible piece of casting. It’s hard to get an open mesh like this. All those little openings have to drilled smooth after casting.)

Above are more lovely and intricate components.

The fixture is not large (a little over 12-inches wide), and is intended for a foyer, bath, or special nook.

If you have been looking for a really special fixture for a small space then this beauty may be ideal.

Wholly restored and with cloth-covered wiring, this fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed!

  • The fixture accepts one standard base 60W bulb.
  • Most of the fixture is aluminum.
  • The rod just below the ceiling mount is a replacement.

COLOR: The shade is custard glass. The birds scenes are sod blues and oranges. The metal is burnished gold with greenish accents. There are some brass fittings.
SIZE: The fixture hangs down about 25-inches and is a little over 12-inches wide. I can remove up to 6-inches of chain. I can add chain.

  • There’s no damage.
  • The wiring is new.
  • The original chain was corroded (this is common). The new chain precisely matches the original in terms of scale and shape.

SHIPPING: Insured shipping in the Continental US will be…FREE! Yippee!
