Description

I’m very pleased to offer this wonderful 1930s ceiling fixture by the famous PORCELIER company!

For many decades, Porcelier made some of the finest lighting fixtures and house wares (they closed in the 1950s). There’s a book on their work:
Collector’s Guide to Porcelier China
By Susan E. Grindberg

The shade is just lovely. It’s frosted, and has luscious designs in high relief.

The porcelain canopy is also lovely, and has gold edging and raised leaves.

These PORCELIER canopies are so hard to find with their original shades!

This is a petit fixture (10-1/2-inches wide) so is ideal for a bedroom, bath, or hall.

PORCELIER MANIA?
For a long time I’ve had a dream. One day (cue dramatic music) a buyer will contact me. They, too, love love love Porcelier, and wonder if their whole house could be filled with nothing but Porcelier fixtures. I gasp! And reply: Why yes! Please just click here:

Wholly restored and with new wiring, this fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed!

DETAILS: The fixture accepts one bulb. I would suggest 100W or lower.
COLOR: The shade is frosted white with clear glass accents. The canopy is cream with brilliant gold edging.
SIZE: The fixture hangs down about 9-1/2-inches and is 10-1/2-inches wide.
CONDITION:

  • There is a flea bite to the upper edge of the ceiling canopy. This is hard to even see with the fixture eight or more feet off the floor.
  • The porcelain socket is original with new wiring.
  • The three brass chains are new.
  • There are subtle manufacturing irregularities. This is normal.
  • The gold on the canopy looks great.
