1930s 2-bulb by Lincoln. NEVER USED

1 in stock

I’m very pleased to offer this remarkable never-used 1930s 2-bulb ceiling fixture by Lincoln!

Yes, the fixture was never used and is in near-mint original condition. Wow.

The fixture also retains a distinctive element: an early dimming system. There are two beaded chains which hang down, and thread through a small cup. If you pull the cup straight down, both bulbs will light. If you pull the cup to the left, or right, only the left or right bulb will light. Cool. In an age before modern dimming switches were common (after WWII), this fixture must have seemed the very acme of high technology. That the fixture retains this distinctive element is also amazing. I have offered the fixture previously but this is the first fully intact one I’ve ever had.

The fixture can also be controlled by a wall switch, assuming your room is wired as such.

The polychrome is mostly a pale, antiqued beige, and with subtle accents of blue and pink.

The overall lines are wonderfully 1930s.

Scale-wise, the fixture is suited for a smaller bedroom, hall, foyer, or bath.

This fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed!

  • Sadly, the period-correct, hand-painted bulbs are not included. Happily, I will let you know where to get them.
  • The fixture accepts standard base 60W bulbs.

COLOR: See above.

SIZE: The fixture hangs down about 5-inches (without bulbs) and is 6- x 12-inches wide.

  • I love writing this: there’s no damage. Again, the fixture is near mint. There are but some subtle scuffs.
  • Although the original wiring was near mint, I replaced it. The sockets are original.

SHIPPING: Insured shipping in the Continental US will be…FREE!
