Description

I’m very pleased to offer this astonishing circa-1905 hanging fixture!

The huge brass bowl (22-inches wide) contains five sockets, and each socket is bracketed by mirrored “wings”!

How amazing is this? Because early electric light bulbs were very dim it was often necessary to amplify their wattage via mirrors.

And it gets even better! The round finial is a switch! You can turn on each bulb individually, or all five at once! In an age before dimmers this was an enviable feature. (If your ceiling electric box is wired to a wall switch, the wall switch can control the fixture.)

The fixture is all brass and this has developed a bronze-like patina. Gorgeous.

The large bowl hangs from three chains, attaching to a sphere cluster. Stunning.

Again, the scale is imposing at 22-inches wide, and 41-inches long. I can adjust the height up/down; just let me know!

If you are a connoisseur of unique and rare vintage lighting, this remarkable fixture may be ideal in your home.

With new wiring, this fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed!

DETAILS: The fixture accepts standard base 60W bulbs (not included).
COLOR: See above.
SIZE: See above.
CONDITION:
One “wing” has a small piece of mirror missing (see images). Another mirror is cracked (but stable). You can’t see this with the fixture hanging.
The brass has, as noted, a bronze-like patina. This has some scuffing, tonal irregularities, and some scratches. This is normal to vintage patina, and which I find attractive. The brass could be polished bright.
The sockets are original (and in fine shape) with new wiring and paper insulators.
SHIPPING: Insured shipping in the Continental US will be…FREE!
