1902 Early Electric pendant

I’m very pleased to offer this amazing circa-1902 Early Electric brass pendant!

It’s hard to find fixtures from this period, and of such quality.

The 4-arm fixture has stunning and delicate glass shades.

There are gorgeous cast brass shell motifs applied to the stem, and gorgeous cast brass flourishes. Just stunning.

Of note are the original Hubbell sockets (dated 1902), each having a long pull-chain, creating a distinctive look. Each chain ends with a wonderful acorn finial. (Note: the pull-chains work but as I cannot guarantee 118-year-old pull-chains I recommend that the fixture be controlled by a wall switch.)

The fixture was part of the first generation of all-electric lighting. A decade previous lighting was either gas or gas/electric combinations.

The brass retains an old lacquer finish (original?) which I but gently cleaned.

The fixture was not intended for a modest home of the era but rather for a high-end house.

With new wiring, this fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed!

  • The fixture accepts standard base 60W bulbs (not included).
  • One pull-chain is a little shorter than the others.

COLOR: Brass with patina.

SIZE: The fixture hangs down about 27-inches (the pull-chains hang down a little lower) and is about 26-inches wide. I can make the fixture a bit lower, or longer; please contact me. The shades have 2-1/4-inch fitter ends.

  • The shades have some subtle scuffing, and small chips to the fitting ends (which cannot be seen).
  • The sockets are original (and in fine shape) with new wiring and paper insulators.

SHIPPING: Insured shipping in the Continental US will be…FREE!
